I forgot my password during the email verification process

What to do if you forgot your password during the email verification process using Google or Microsoft sign-in.

Purpose of This Article

From time to time, we ask Datylon users to verify their email address for security purposes.
If you have a Datylon account that uses both a password and Single Sign-On (SSO) via Google or Microsoft, you’ll first be asked to sign in using your password.

This article explains what to do if you forgot your password after starting the verification process.

What Happened Before

  1. You signed in using Google or Microsoft.

  2. You saw a dialog box that said “Check your inbox.”

  3. You received a verification email.

  4. You opened the email and clicked the “Verify your email address” button.

  5. A browser window opened asking you to sign in with your Datylon account email and password.

Forgot Your Password?

If you forgot your password at this point, you may have clicked “Reset it” or are unsure what to do next. Here's how to proceed:

  1. In the dialog box, click “Reset it”.

  2. You’ll receive a password reset email.

  3. Click the “Change your password” button in that email and set a new password.

⚠️ Important:
Resetting your password completes the password change, but your Google or Microsoft account is still not verified at this stage.

How to Complete the Verification

To finish verifying your account:

  1. Go back to the original verification email (from Step 3 in Section What Happened Before).

  2. Click the “Verify your email address” button again.

  3. When prompted, enter your Datylon account email and new password.

  4. You’ll see a confirmation message that your account has been verified.

  5. You can now sign in successfully using Google or Microsoft.
